Our substrate is pure Calcium Carbonate Coral, in contrast to other so-called "coral sands" on the market, which are typically nothing more than crushed Limestone or other mineral calcium chips.

Its dazzling white colour reflects the light beneath corals, fostering the growth of those organisms. In any marine and African Rift Valley tank, coral sand is a crucial element. Because of its naturally smooth edges, bottom-dwelling fish may clean and eat without risk. Its porous texture (as opposed to the smooth texture of mined mineral calcium substrate) provides a large surface area for growing bacteria, making it the perfect foundation for assisting the biological filtration of the aquarium.
