The first three months of a puppy's life is the most critical period. For a puppy to learn how to interact appropriately around other dogs, it needs to be with other puppies around the same age. If a puppy does not interact with other puppies during this period, there is a high risk that your puppy may be antisocial towards other dogs.

A good puppy program will provide your puppy with opportunities to develop appropriate canine social skills in a controlled environment.

Shy and timid dogs will build up confidence while the more outgoing dogs will learn to be calmer and polite.

Everything a puppy encounters should be made to be a positive and pleasant experience, as this will help reduce future problem behaviors. Our puppy programs are very educational and fun for both owners and their new K9 buddy.

Ziggy's TLC for happy dog + healthy you, run an 8 week Puppy Lifestyle Program. These classes are especially designed for puppies aged between 8-20 weeks of age. Classes are held at Pet City and the first class is an orientation without your puppy. For the following lessons please bring your puppy, a flat collar and lead, small food treats, a mat for puppy to lie on and pig's ear or rawhide chew.

8-week Puppy Lifestyle Program:

This comprehensive program will teach you everything you need to know to control your K9 buddy in everyday life situations.

In this program we cover topics such as:

• An understanding of different positive training techniques and which ones to use and when.
• How to troubleshoot particular problems.
• Conditioning your K9 buddy to respond to requests inside and outside the home environment, under different levels of distraction.
• Have the opportunity to try and fit different walking equipment on your dog which will assist you in making correct purchases.

Your puppy will also learn how to 'stay', 'come' when called both on and off the lead, walk nicely on a lead, greet people and other dogs politely while on a lead and 'quiet' (stop barking).

The cost of this program is $240.00 and includes a gift and graduation certificate. Also included are complimentary interaction sessions on a Thursday evening, where your K9 buddy can further develop its interaction and social skills by interacting with puppies from other classes. If required, additional private lessons are also available at 50% cost for the rest of your K9 buddy’s life!

Our Philosophy:

At Ziggy's TLC we make teaching your dog good manners easy, fun and stress free for both you and your dog.

All training is non-physical and non-confrontational, using positive reinforcement techniques. This means all desirable behavior is rewarded, which will increase the frequency of the behavior happening again.

Classes are taken personally by Ziggy, a qualified K9 behavioral trainer.
